About The Event
Chinese Brush Painting -Introduction with Maxine Leu
Weekend afternoon, come to relax, create, and meditate with Maxine Leu. In this series of classes, students will be introduced to the Spontaneous styles of Chinese brush painting, the Four Treasures of Study, five tones of black, the meaning of four-gentleman plants, animals and landscapes. The classes will cover basic techniques like brush holding, strokes, water control, composition in Eastern painting, and signature. This class is open to beginners. Tool and material included. If you’re interested in the purchase of your own tool and material, the list is available on request.
Tool & Material:

About teaching artist:
Maxine Leu is an interdisciplinary artist, art educator, and environmentalist from Taiwan. She received her Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture at the State University of New York at New Paltz and her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Tainan University of Technology (TUT), Tainan, Taiwan. Her work focuses on the environment, communication, and identity. Leu has been promoting workshops about Printmaking, Sculpture, Eco-friendly and recycling Art, and Traditional Chinese Art in a number of places since 2015.
