Date/ Time: Sundays 1-4pm, Nov 7, 14, 21, 28, and Dec 5
Course Introduction:
Printmaking is all around us—everyday objects, dollar bills, packaging, books, posters, stamps, art, etc. Have you noticed they're also on 3D objects, how we move printing 2D image beyond the flat page? In this class, we will discover how to turn 2D images/ text into engaging 3D artworks. Through hands-on projects, you’ll experiment with materials, explore different shapes, and create your own prints using methods like transfer, stencils, templates, and assembly techniques.
Tool & Material:
Scissors, utility knife, carving tools, linoleum 3-5”, relief ink, silkscreen 150 mesh, screen print ink, tray for soaking the paper, towel for drying the paper, newsprint, printmaking paper. The studio will prepare forming mold or die, stencil paper, underglass, clay when needed.

Class #4: 2D image transfer on non-flat surface I, with jello plate/ silkscreen

About teaching artist:
Maxine Leu is an interdisciplinary artist, art educator, and environmentalist from Taiwan. She received her Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture at the State University of New York at New Paltz and her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Tainan University of Technology (TUT), Tainan, Taiwan. Her work focuses on the environment, communication, and identity. Leu has been promoting workshops about Printmaking, Sculpture, Eco-friendly and recycling Art, and Traditional Chinese Art in a number of places since 2015.
