What Did We Eat

"What Did We Eat" is a collage sculpture assembled from the colorful packaging of everyday processed foods. The piece playfully pairs plump animal figures with familiar human meal, inviting viewers to question what we really consume. Have you ever noticed that ants ignore brightly colored candies, pigeons pass by leftover pizza slices, or monkeys avoid abandoned energy drinks? If animals won’t eat these foods, what does it say about our own choices?

Processed foods come tightly packed in vibrant wrappers, boxes, and cans, each labeled and barcoded as part of a vast, impersonal system. Nutrition labels list ingredients and calories, giving an illusion of transparency and choice. Meanwhile, food companies compete to design the most tempting packages, expertly using color, slogans, and friendly branding to appeal to busy consumers. In a world where convenience often outweighs nutrition, "What Did We Eat" prompts us to reconsider not just what’s in our food, but why we choose it.
