The work “Insects Reconstructed”, is an ongoing project. Swarms of reassembled mini-sculptural biomimetic creatures I create from e-waste and used goods. The pieces refer to the high speed of elimination from consumerism.  I collect second-hand materials as a way of observing the history of our society. Disassembling and assembling play vital roles in all my artworks. I think deeply about the relationship between societies and myself, such as where it comes from, what the original function is, what it’s made of, why people made it, when it was made, why it was discarded, how do I view it and what it can be?

A monitor is an element that modern people are most familiar with at the era of technology explosion. We thought smart devices understand and fulfill our demands, but instead, it is us whom monitor controls. And we have no feelings towards this germ-like erosion. Before touchscreen became popular, mouse, keyboard, earphone along with microphone are the connections through which we gain and transform information. Through decomposing these objects surrounding the monitor and turned them into mini-sculptures, throughout which process, the original functions of these objects have been replaced. The contextualization of appearance refers to the high speed of elimination of old technologies.
